Board members and community presenters used the December meeting to celebrate student work and athletic achievement. Marissa Morjillo introduced a Unity Day mural created by Art Honor Society students under the PTA's theme "Rise Above with Kindness," noting that individual feathers on the mural were signed by students, faculty, and staff across the district.
The board then honored fall-season student-athletes in a recognition program led by district athletic director Jason Supple, who listed all-county and county-champion honorees from Clark and East Meadow high schools. Highlights included Madison De Leon's All-State field hockey recognition and Megan Lung's state-qualifying performances in swimming; Supple also congratulated county champions and county-honored performers across multiple sports.
Student board member Tara reported on school clubs, the National Honor Society induction, winter sports starts, and recent volunteer initiatives such as Key Club's Kiwanis Thanksgiving food sorting. In public comment, East Meadow High School student Aaron Horowitz invited the community to attend the theater's production of "This Murder Was Staged" on Dec. 11'12 and provided ticket prices.
The board framed the presentations as community-building moments and thanked parents, coaches, and staff for supporting students' extracurricular and artistic accomplishments. No formal board action was required for these agenda items.
