Housing and Economic Development Chair Torrance said the committee will meet on City Council Bill 25-087 (an eviction chattels/time-to-reclaim proposal) and Bill 25-088 (property taxes on vacant lots/large constructors) on January 20 at 5:15 p.m., and that an informational hearing on a permits-related resolution will be scheduled for February 10. "This bill was introduced by myself... requiring landlords to retain tenants' property for specific periods of time under certain circumstances," Torrance said, describing Bill 25-087.

Chair Dorsey, standing in for Chair Schleifer, announced the Legislative Investigations Committee rescheduled LO 25-0037 (opioid epidemic response) from December 11 to January 8, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber.

Public Safety Chair Conway announced two hearings: LO 25-42 (AI surveillance in schools) was moved from December 16 to January 13 at 1:00 p.m., and Resolution 25-0036 R (an informational hearing on human trafficking investigations and prosecutions) will be heard on February 17 at 1:00 p.m.
