Lucia updated the commission on City Council’s request to amend the Englewood Arts agreement for Hampton Hall to provide programming recommendations and metrics. She said council declined a five-year extension and approved a two-year extension; council asked staff to work with Englewood Arts to determine feasible data to inform future contract decisions.

Lucia said she met with Eric from Englewood Arts about measurable metrics and that Englewood Arts will collect usage and programming data (including rental uses and attendance metrics) and produce a report due next January. "They'll summarize the data, create a report, and submit it to CAC. You guys will review and make any recommendations," Lucia said; staff will forward the commission’s recommendations to City Council before the 2028 contract renewal discussion in April 2027.

Staff said the commission could adjust the proposed scoring criteria to a reporting approach if the scoring burden is too large for Englewood Arts. Commission review of the report will focus on program diversity, capacity and whether recommended changes are reasonable before council amends the agreement.
