Davidson County leadership used part of its organizational meeting to recognize county employees who reached service milestones, calling out workers by department and years of service and inviting awardees to collect plaques and refreshments.
A presenter thanked commissioners and County Manager Smith for taking time to recognize employees and then read names grouped by department and milestone year (SEG 199–347). The recognitions covered employees with five years of service (examples: Neil Flanagan, Sarah Gentry), 10 years (examples: Donna Grooms, Amanda Rachard), 15 years (examples: Sala Young, Jana Walker), 20 years (Kristen Beanblossom, Henrietta Green), 25 years (Charles Cook; multiple social services and tax department staff), 30 years (Charlie Brushwood; sheriff’s department staff), and two employees who reached 40 years of service: Terry Ward (Register of Deeds) and Andy Miller (Soil and Water). The presenter also noted two employees retiring this month: Tanya Hensley (library, about 31 years) and Lisa Hunt (finance, about 11 years) (SEG 321–339).
The awards segment included instructions for department heads to collect any unclaimed plaques after the meeting and offered refreshments for awardees (SEG 342–346). The transcript records light, convivial banter among commissioners during the awards and no public comment or controversy in this portion of the meeting.
Next steps: plaques will be available by department for pickup; no policy actions were taken during this presentation portion of the meeting.
