The Livonia City Council approved a slate of routine purchases and contract extensions on the consent calendar covering public-safety equipment, parks maintenance, water-utility supplies and fleet repairs.
Highlights approved on consent included: purchase of five Stryker Power-Pro 2 ambulance stretchers to replace units that have reached end of service life; sole-source purchase of two ZOLL cardiac monitor defibrillators for frontline vehicles; extension of a municipal park mowing contract with Brantley Development for $87,276; award of a two-year water-main repair clamp contract with Ferguson Water Works not to exceed $100,000 per year; continuation of pricing with Aetna Supply Company for water meters and supplies in an amount not to exceed $1,500,000; and replacement of a vehicle hoist via the HGAC cooperative purchasing program at an estimated $31,646.75.
Department representatives said the purchases come from budgeted funds, that some items are sole-source or cooperative-purchase eligible and that several vendors held prior pricing. Council members expressed general support and offered approving on consent for the items.
