During member remarks the board addressed local traffic and parking problems that can affect emergency access.
A commissioner told the board residents report a bar on Main Street near Howardstown is adjacent to a fire hydrant where drivers repeatedly park. "They're parking in front of that hydrant constantly," the commissioner said, and asked that the "no parking from here to corner" sign be moved to extend the no-parking zone past the hydrant.
Police acknowledged prior enforcement and said they would assign a sergeant to move the sign. "I'll have Sergeant Baldus get on that, get that moved," a police speaker said in response.
Separately, commissioners raised persistent congestion during Saint Paul's School pick-up on Prospect Street, where parked cars on both sides force drivers into the opposing lane. Police said they are working with the school principal and the superintendent's office and that security staff help manage flow; a new municipal parking lot near Christmas Village may ease overflow.
The board did not take a formal vote on parking changes at the meeting but directed police to move the sign and monitor the affected areas.
