The Dennis‑Yarmouth Regional School District launched a new district website on Nov. 25 using SmartSites powered by ParentSquare, communications staff told the school committee on Dec. 1.
Lila Espano, communications and community relations coordinator, said the change allows the district to create content once in ParentSquare and publish it across the website, email, text and social channels. "Selecting SmartSites allow us to bring everything into a unified communication systems," she said.
Joanna Watson, assistant director of digital learning and library services, demonstrated school and district calendars that aggregate events by color and showed how school pages will host quick links, newsletters and welcome messages. Committee members raised a search concern: one member said Google results still linked to the old site for the lunch menu; staff acknowledged the report and said they would check search indexing.
Staff also explained that staff directories are organized by school or office and that some search behavior remains under review. The district plans to continue refining navigation and adding features as the team receives feedback from families and staff.
What’s next: communications staff will monitor search/indexing issues and continue to roll out features and school‑level content.
