The City of Sunny Isles Beach recognized local photographers chosen for its 2026 desktop calendar and honored winners of a city‑run Florida City Week writing contest for middle‑school students.

City staff named the calendar’s cover photographer as Moses Phan and listed images by month contributed by 16 photographers. Staff thanked graphic designer Elvira Gattina and contest manager Vanessa Viera and invited winners and commissioners forward for photos and copies of the calendar.

Myra Aleman, the city’s chief of staff, introduced the Florida City Week writing contest winners and noted the competition recognized sixth‑through eighth‑grade essays on the theme "What Makes Your City Special?" She congratulated the winners and praised the creativity of all entrants. Several commissioners read excerpts from essays that highlighted safety, multiculturalism and local events, and they encouraged continued youth participation in civic programs.

City staff distributed calendars and said copies are available in the chambers; no formal action or vote was associated with the presentations.
