YELM, Wash. — The City of Yelm announced Nov. 25 that it has been awarded a Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) grant of $3,000,000 to complete the Rote Road project.
Finance staff member Todd told the council the award will fund the entire Rote Road project. "We received a TIB grant for Rote Road for the total amount of $3,000,000 to complete the entire project," Todd said. City staff also reported that the annual audit is underway, and that public works is arranging a retirement recognition for City Engineer Pat Hughes.
City officials did not provide a detailed construction schedule or a complete funding breakdown at the meeting; next steps will follow normal grant acceptance, contracting and project delivery processes. The council approved several ordinances and a resolution during the same meeting; the grant announcement was presented during staff reports.
