City officials detailed a series of parks and recreation investments intended to expand shade, play and community programming across Corona.

Speaker 7 described a City Park revitalization that would add an aquatic center, a community center, an outdoor playground, a pump track and basketball courts, calling the package a "major improvement" tied to downtown activation. Speaker 6 noted the parks master plan adopted by the city council in 2024 will guide project sequencing and reflects public outreach.

Sheridan Park was celebrated in a grand reopening (Speaker 15), and park designers said residents selected themed playground concepts such as a galaxy/outer-space motif. Speaker 2 and others noted the city is adding shade structures, new trees and three splash pads citywide; Speaker 2 called Victoria Park "the third splash pad in our city."

Officials linked parks investments to broader quality-of-life and event activation goals, saying new amenities will support summer concerts, festivals and multigenerational use.
