Cathy Nicholas, speaking for public works, updated the board that contractor work at Down Street is nearly complete, guardrail installation was finished and the road should reopen by close of business tomorrow. She said Grama Road work is continuing and reminded drivers to slow down in winter conditions; plow crews typically operate from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. unless called out for an emergency. Nicholas said the county is adding blue lights to snowplows to improve visibility and urged residents to subscribe to the county road-notification system.

Gabby Durrett, marketing coordinator, described the staff’s social-media scheduling tool that allows timely posts about road conditions and urged sign‑ups for direct notifications. Durrett also announced a public snowplow naming contest with more than 115 submissions; public voting is scheduled to run Dec. 8–14. IT director Veil U reported the courthouse phone deployment is complete across most departments with a few tweaks remaining.
