The University District Review Board approved proposed exterior alterations for 70 East 18th Avenue under COA 2501217.

Staff described the work: removal of asphalt shingle siding on the upper exterior walls and replacement with smooth Hardy board painted Sherwin-Williams Colonial Revival stone green; trim and fascia to be painted Sherwin-Williams Panda White; rear porch and roof to be removed and rebuilt with Trex enhanced composite decking and composite railings; porch columns to be wrapped in smooth Hardy board; rear porch roofing to use GAF Timberline HDZ charcoal shingles; and replacement of two front doors with a single steel door with sidelights while retaining the original transom. Staff found the proposal consistent with University District guidance and recommended support as submitted.

Board members briefly discussed the materials and aesthetics. Mister Fleming moved and Mister Mather seconded a motion to approve the application as submitted; the board voted and the motion carried.

Next steps: applicant may proceed with the approved exterior work subject to standard permitting and construction requirements.
