The Berkeley County Planning Commission approved the final plat for Jackson Hills Phase 1, a proposal for 99 townhome lots on 20.63 acres in the Mill Creek District, contingent on receipt of a $3,121,800 surety and a signed developer agreement.
Planning staff told commissioners the final plat "meets the requirements of the subdivision ordinance" and recommended approval conditioned on submission of the surety and execution of the developer agreement. The staff report identifies the developer as Townhome Rentals LLC and the engineer as Roberts Land Surveying; the project is located off Specks Run Road and Chan Chandler's Glen Drive near Winchester Avenue (map 13, parcels 42 and 43).
Mike Roberts of Roberts Land Surveying appeared for the developer; no members of the public spoke during the hearing. Planning Commission member Tim Lewis moved to accept staff recommendations, including the surety requirement; the motion was seconded by member Bach and passed.
Under the motion the plat will be released only after receipt of the stated surety and a signed developer agreement. The commission closed the public hearing before the vote and recorded the approval as a final-plat action. The commission took no other action on the project at the meeting.
