The Egg Harbor Township Committee on Nov. 12 introduced three ordinances and scheduled public hearings for Dec. 17, 2025 at 5 p.m.

Ordinance 27 would repeal Chapter 180 (the Rent Review Board) in its entirety. The presenter cited preemption by a state law that establishes a statewide cap and regulatory framework for rent increases in manufactured-home communities. The committee voted to introduce the ordinance and set a public hearing for Dec. 17, 2025.

Ordinance 28 proposes several amendments to Chapter 6 (administration of government) to remove obsolete references, modernize administrative language and codify established procedures; it also was introduced and set for public hearing on Dec. 17. Ordinance 29 would add general penalty provisions (new sections 1‑15 and 1‑16) to ensure uniform enforcement of municipal ordinances where chapter-specific penalties are not stated; it likewise will be heard on Dec. 17.

Committee members approved motions to introduce all three ordinances by roll call at the Nov. 12 meeting. Details of each ordinance, including final text and fiscal notes, will be available before the Dec. 17 public hearings.
