Multiple labor representatives used public comment on Nov. 13 to press the district on two related issues: disputed HR emails about employee absences and a slow pace of contract negotiations.
A speaker identifying with CSEA said that, as of July 1, certain district policies were not consistently followed and that CSEA had not been informed of any contract language changes. "As of 11/13, CSEA is no longer going to wait and sit around," the speaker said, and asked that "all admin directors be held accountable."
A representative of the Regal Teachers Association described specific errors in an HR email that listed absence totals; the speaker said one member was notified of "5 absences over a 64 day period" when records showed a smaller amount of leave. The speaker also said the initial emails had been sent only to teachers and not to classified staff or administrators and asked for parity in notifications.
At the board table, a CSEA speaker said negotiations were scheduled but that no wage proposals had been presented at a recent meeting and asked the board to give direction to the administration so proposals would be presented before mid‑December rather than waiting until after the holiday break.
The board did not take immediate formal action on the comments but trustees and the superintendent acknowledged the concerns and described continuing dialogue with labor leaders.
