The Historic Zoning Commission deferred action on an administrative demolition permit for 1514 Forest Avenue after members of the public told the commission the property is involved in probate and ownership is unclear.

Staff presented the application and said revised plans met staff conditions. Public commenters Jonathan French and Archie Fritch stated that the house belonged to a now-deceased family member and that conservatorship or probate matters may affect whether an applicant has authority to pursue demolition or a permit. Legal counsel said additional research was needed to determine whether the application was valid; commissioners voted to defer the item for one meeting to allow staff and legal counsel to investigate ownership and authority to proceed.

The commission recorded the deferral so that the item cannot be acted on until ownership documents or legal confirmation are provided. Staff said it would reach out to the applicant and follow up with counsel.
