New Rock Asphalt Coatings representative Rob Holland presented the Millard County Road Department with an award recognizing the department’s accomplishment of completing roughly 100 miles of chip‑seal surface treatment this year.

Holland said the 100 miles equates to approximately 2,400 tons of chip oil and “over 65 supertankers” plus about 1,900 additional dump‑truck loads of chips. He described the county crew as unusually efficient compared with regional peers and noted that the county’s approach — including a local tank to avoid late‑delivery charges — reduced extra fees. Commissioners thanked the crew and called Brandon (a road department representative) to accept the plaque.
