The Radcliff City Council voted on Nov. 18 to confirm Tim Marsh as the permanent fire chief after he had served as interim chief for several months.
Mayor and council members moved and seconded the recommendation and confirmed Marsh by roll call; the mayor then congratulated staff on recent promotions. Marsh, a 25‑year department member, said he accepted the role with humility and thanked the council and department staff.
"I don't take it lightly. It's a privilege and honor to do this," Marsh said, adding that Captains Vandermonde and Green had helped the department run more smoothly and that staff recently held a meeting to align day‑to‑day operations.
Council recognized other promotions within the department; those items were celebrated during the meeting. Marsh also outlined community outreach plans: the department's Santa truck runs begin the Friday after Thanksgiving and will operate on Friday and Saturday evenings (except Dec. 6 for the department Christmas dinner); routes and a tracker will be posted on the department’s Facebook page so residents know approximate arrival times.
The confirmation was approved at the meeting; council did not record individual roll call names in a motion text in the transcript beyond indicating affirmative votes, and the mayor announced the appointment was approved.
