The Arlington Planning Commission voted to recommend that the city council adopt code changes to AMC chapter 20.9 concerning concurrency and Community Park impact fees, with a correction to a fee table identified during the hearing.
Amy Rusco, Community and Economic Development Director, described the proposed changes to AMC chapter 20.9 part 3, saying the amendment removes some old subsections and adds subsections a–g that explain the impact-fee calculation and include the full formula. She said the amendment also breaks out occupants per residence and shows the impact fee per person per unit; staff noted Appendix G applies a 50% rate of the fee in some places.
During a review of the fee table, commissioners identified a formatting error showing extra zeros in one column. One commissioner moved that the Planning Commission recommend approval of the zoning/code amendment "with the correction on paragraph G, removing the 2 zeros showing a total of $1,921.33." The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Why it matters: The recommended code changes update how Arlington calculates and presents park impact fees that developers may be required to pay; the correction ensures the fee table presents accurate, readable numbers before the item goes to city council.
The commission closed the public hearing and forwarded the recommendation to city council. A late comment letter from Russell Joe of Master Builders was noted during the meeting and will be reviewed by staff.
