Amy Robertson, plan supervisor with the Florida Department of Transportation, briefed Bradford County commissioners on the tentative five-year DOT work program for fiscal years 2027–2031 and answered questions about local projects.
Robertson said the tentative program officially closed Sept. 30, 2025, and noted the DOT will accept public comments on the program until Nov. 20, 2025, before legislative and executive review and final adoption by the State Secretary of Transportation on July 1, 2026. She listed solicitation windows for several grant programs: Safe Routes to School (open Sept. 30–Jan. 31, 2026), Transportation Alternatives (open Oct. 22–Jan. 22, 2026) and SCRAP (open Oct. 23–Jan. 22, 2026).
Robertson reviewed resurfacing and safety projects that include County Road (CR) 125 widening and resurfacing, State Road 100 resurfacing from the Clay County line, State Road 16 resurfacing and other county and state routes. She said funding was secured for design of the Lehi Butler State Trail trailhead in the current year with construction funding anticipated in 2027; she also reported a contractor cost-initiative proposal to change a concrete pedestrian bridge to a metal structure is under review and decision on that change is pending at FDOT central office.
Commissioners thanked DOT staff and asked about schedules for specific sidewalk and resurfacing projects; Robertson said several agreements had been executed and local concurrence and contract award actions were pending, and she offered to follow up with more precise construction-window information.
The commission received the update; no formal vote on DOT items was required at the Nov. 18 meeting.
