The Belton Independent School District Board of Trustees formally canvassed returns from the Nov. 4 bond election and declared the results at a special meeting on Nov. 13, 2025.
Presiding officer of the meeting read vote totals provided by the Bell County Office of Elections Administration and announced that Proposition C received 4,934 votes for and 4,401 votes against and was approved by voters. Propositions A, B and D were not approved: A received 4,625 for and 4,714 against; B received 3,544 for and 5,789 against; D received 3,933 for and 5,403 against.
The board then considered a motion to approve the order canvassing the returns and declaring the election results. A motion was made, Trustee Norwood was identified as the mover and Trustee Preston as the second, and the board approved the canvass by a unanimous 7-0 vote. "Proposition C was approved by the voters," the presiding officer said, and after the vote added, "That passes 7 to 0." The transcript does not list bond amounts or project-level allocations.
Trustees had no public comments to consider; the presiding officer opened the public-comment period and said there were none before moving to the canvass item. The meeting was adjourned at 5:02 p.m.
The board's action on Nov. 13 certified the election results for the district; any implementation, such as issuing bonds or allocating proceeds, would occur only after the district follows the statutory and administrative steps required for bond issuance and project financing. The bond proposition amounts and planned projects were not specified in the meeting transcript or in the materials read aloud at the meeting.
