The City Council voted to authorize the execution of documents necessary to close the sale of Lot 1, Block A, Perry Industrial Park (the Project Duke property) to BHD Land Development LLC.

The resolution (2025-20) authorizes Nate Reid, city manager, or, in his absence, Mayor Lawrence Wortham to execute and deliver the special warranty deed and other certifications required for the sale. Staff reported the title company requested formal authority for who may close; documents had been signed and overnighted and staff requested the mayor stay after the meeting to sign closing paperwork.

City Manager Nate Reid described the sale as the result of more than a year of work and said he expects the purchasing company to announce details in two to three weeks. The council approved the resolution by roll call with all present members voting yes.

Staff instructed the mayor to sign necessary documents after the meeting to complete the closing steps. No further conditions were reported on the record.
