The Cortland City Council on Nov. 13 approved routine financial items and took action on several ordinances and resolutions.
Council approved scheduled bills totaling $100,521.98 and accepted the bank reconciliation ending Oct. 31. The council also completed the third and final reading of Ordinance O-62-25, an ordinance that prohibits review or access of city email accounts of city employees or elected officials without consent or lawful approval under Ohio public records law; the ordinance was submitted by Councilman Pacury and the motion was adopted on roll call.
Other business included the adoption of Resolution R-45-25, authorizing consent with the Ohio Department of Transportation to perform crack sealing on State Route 305 within the city (Council Member Dawn abstained from that vote because she works for ODOT). Council also approved R-46-25, authorizing the mayor to sign a replat of Lots 3 and 4 in Stonewood Plat No. 1, and held first readings for an ordinance adopting a nepotism/conflict-of-interest policy (O-65-25) and an ordinance authorizing funding to Scope Inc. for senior center services (O-66-25).
