Wooster — Councilmember Knappic told colleagues on Monday that the Nov. 17 meeting would be her last after 12 years of service.
“I am stepping down tonight. This will be my last city council meeting,” she said, thanking city employees, fellow council members, and the citizens of Wooster for the opportunity to serve. Members of the council, including the mayor, praised her long service and mentorship and wished her well.
Knappic said she hoped her successor would gain experience with the coming budget process and noted the city has "a great group of people" both on staff and on the council. The mayor and fellow council members offered personal remarks and a motion to adjourn followed shortly after the farewells.
That announcement came in the same meeting where the council rejected seven parcel TIF ordinances and adopted a bed‑tax resolution. Knappic participated in votes during the evening and her final items will include the upcoming budget process in December.
