The Planning and Economic Development Committee considered multiple smaller conditional‑use requests: two oversized garages at 1239 Country Club Road and at 1432–1436 Fowler Avenue, and a request from Buckeye State Credit Union to retain a projecting wall sign at 195 South Main Street.
Planning staff described the Country Club Road application as a two‑story, 30x36‑foot garage to be located behind a dwelling, exceeding code by 100 square feet and 7 feet in height; the petitioner, Michael Considine, said the structure will match his house and complement the golf course and neighborhood. A supporter who had been consulted with neighbors spoke in favor.
The Fowler Avenue petitioners, Jody and Jason Himes, requested a 36x39‑foot garage on a large duplex lot; staff noted the project had previously received conditional‑use approval in 2014 but was never built and that the current proposal would minimize impacts on neighboring properties.
Buckeye State Credit Union requested retention of a 3x3‑foot projecting ATM identification sign 13 feet above the right of way to improve wayfinding on a recessed downtown façade. Daniel Perry, representing the credit union, said the sign would help residents find an interactive teller machine downtown and that no other 24‑hour cash access exists on that block. Planning staff and the planning commission recommended approval of all three items subject to conditions; each item will be considered again at the 5:00 p.m. session when the committee will offer a recommendation to council.
