At its meeting, the Princeton City Council approved several routine and event-related items by majority vote.
Minutes and invoices: The council approved the minutes from the regular meeting on Nov. 3, 2025, and voted to approve presented departmental invoices with a grand total of $1,886,763.58. The city clerk, Janet Henning, presented the invoice breakdown: Housing Finance $402,220.04; Streets and Public Improvements $115,314.23; Public Safety $239,706.38; Public Property and Utilities $1,129,522.93.
Parade road closure: Council adopted Resolution R-25-028 authorizing a temporary closure of Illinois Route 26 for the Putnam parade, an event organized by the Lions Club. Council members noted this is the third year of the closure for the parade and approved the measure by roll call.
Appointment: The council appointed Richard Heaton to a three-year term on the Public Arts Commission ending April 20, 2028; the motion was moved, seconded and approved by recorded ayes.
Procedural notes: The council announced public comment at the start and end of the meeting and asked speakers to limit remarks to three minutes; there were no opening public commentators.
