The Area Planning Commission policy board on Nov. 13 approved Resolution T25-15, supporting the Indiana Department of Transportation's purchase of AASHTOware safety software to clean, combine and analyze crash data.
APC staff described the software as a tool that "cleans and combines the crash data and also assists in analyzing the data." Doug said the cost would be spread over four years and, in his presentation, referenced a cost of $2,600,000. He added that APC staff would have access to the software "on INDOT's time."
During the motion to approve the resolution, the motion language in the record referenced $2,670,000. The Technical Transportation Committee had reviewed the request and recommended approval; APC staff recommended forwarding the resolution to the policy board.
The board moved, seconded and approved Resolution T25-15 by roll-call vote with unanimous recorded votes. APC staff will coordinate with INDOT on access and any local analyses conducted with the software.
