Peter Sewick, parish manager for Saint Mary’s downtown York, presented the board with preliminary plans to replace windows across the parish hall, office and school buildings and asked what the board will approve for a larger window-replacement project.
Sewick said the parish will not touch stone steps but noted that several lower windows had been replaced previously by a firm the transcript records as “Grama Architectural.” He described the full-scope window work as a larger project and said bids have varied as the parish determines specifications. The parish estimated roughly 60–80 windows would be involved in total and said one set of high-end, historically styled windows was estimated at about $300,000 for the full set; the parish said less-expensive options are available.
Board staff clarified the board does not review horizontal-plane work such as public sidewalks; because some of the sidewalk/concrete work was private, staff said the concrete permit for that element could proceed and indicated permitting staff would be notified to move the permit along. The parish was asked to return with proposed window manufacturers and detailed drawings (simulated divided lights would be acceptable if detailed appropriately).
No formal vote was taken on the window project at the hearing; the board granted permission for concrete work to progress where it did not require additional review.
