At its Nov. 13 meeting, the Regional Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend denial of Ordinance LC 25-25, a zoning-map amendment that would change land near Farmington from AR (agricultural/low-density residential) to BG (general business/highway commercial).

The motion to recommend denial was moved by Commissioner Peter Mills, who read staff and public-hearing exhibits dated Nov. 6, 2025, and summarized the commission's findings of fact: there was no mistake in the zoning map; most surrounding parcels remain zoned AR with an agricultural and single-family residential character; the few existing commercial and industrial parcels in the area are undeveloped; and "the proposed BG zoning does not conform to the 02/18 comprehensive plan," Mills said.

The chair asked for a second; a second was stated on the record but the transcript does not identify who seconded. Clerk Sarah conducted a roll-call vote; Commissioners Peterman, Servan, Garvey, Mills, Davis and Jester each voted to deny, producing a 6-0 recommendation to deny Ordinance LC 25-25.
