The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 13 approved several resolutions, contracts and a lease and took steps to advertise the proposed FY2026 budget for public review.
Resolutions: The board approved a resolution authorizing applications and a $750,000 county match for the Norristown Public Library Keystone grant to support ADA upgrades and HVAC improvements. Commissioners also approved applications for LSA grants for a coroner’s mausoleum (no local match) and a half‑mile segment of the Valley Forge Connector Trail in Upper Merion Township, plus an LSA request to buy box trucks for mobile library outreach.
Lease authorization: Staff recommended and the board authorized a resolution permitting the county to enter a three‑year lease with 3147 Easton Road LLC in Willow Grove for approximately 5,445 square feet to provide swing space for employees during the Willow Grove Annex renovation; total rent is estimated at about $304,000 over three years.
Contracts and RFPs: The board approved a slate of contract awards, amendments and renewals and approved advertisement of bids and RFPs for several programs. Commissioners specifically discussed and authorized an RFP to seek a private‑sector partner for exploration of a hydroelectric project at the Norristown Dam; the board acknowledged past spending and asked that the forthcoming assessment include cost and feasibility analysis.
Appointments and personnel: The board approved commissioner appointments to SEPTA and appointed members to various county boards; it also approved the personnel list and salary board actions presented by the county human resources office.
All motions described above passed by voice vote during the meeting; specific contracts and grant applications will proceed through the county’s procurement and grant acceptance procedures.
