At the finance-and-operations portion of the Nov. 18 meeting, Flint Community Schools approved a set of facilities and contract items.
The board authorized installation of new oven circuits at Northwestern, Potter and Freeman to support the district’s food service program. Trustees confirmed the work is funded from appropriate meal-service funds and approved the item by roll call, 7–0.
Superintendent Jones also announced that the CEO of the Flint Center for Educational Excellence volunteered to provide community engagement services for the high school project at no charge; trustees thanked the partner and reiterated expectations for high-quality delivery despite the pro-bono arrangement.
Finally, the board approved a first amendment supplemental agreement with Stantec related to the district’s capital work; that contract action passed by roll-call vote, 7–0.
Votes: oven-circuit authorizations and the Stantec amendment each passed unanimously. The finance committee adjourned at 7:59 p.m.; the full board later approved the Stantec amendment and moved to board comments and adjournment.
