The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School Committee completed a set of majority votes at its Nov. 12 meeting. Key outcomes:
• Resignation accepted: The committee moved to accept the resignation of Crystal Ng; the motion passed by voice vote.
• DECA overnight out-of-state trips approved: The committee approved two DECA trip requests, one to Orlando, Fla., (Jan. 28–Feb. 1) and one to Providence, R.I.
• Donations accepted: The committee approved acceptance of an acoustic guitar and several sets of golf clubs vetted by music and athletic staff, and separately accepted a donation of two gallons of paint to district facilities.
• Updated handbooks approved: The board voted to approve the 2025–26 school handbooks, which incorporate an AI policy and updated suspension, due process and student-records language to align with DESE requirements.
• Policies adopted: The competency determination policy (IKFE), which shifts focus toward demonstrated mastery rather than course completion alone, was adopted. The updated graduation policy (IKF), which removes MCAS-specific language and references competency determination, was also adopted.
• Finance items: The committee approved payroll vendor warrants dated 10/29/25.
• Minutes approved: The committee approved regular-session minutes from Oct. 22, 2025, with one abstention noted.
• Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
