The Delaware County Drainage Board approved several narrowly scoped requests and claims during its November 12 meeting, including a private bridge application, an industrial building septic tie‑in to a county tile, and inclusion of a revised claim payment to a landowner.
Surveyor staff reported a contractor for a carpenter’s union near the Bypass and Centennial sought to install a new septic line and tie a 4‑inch drain into an 18‑inch perimeter tile along the bypass. The surveyor said surface water already reaches that tile through existing breathers and recommended the connection. A motion to allow the tie‑in passed on roll call.
The board also reviewed an email request from Tony Kirkham to construct a private bridge over Pete Shoemaker Road to access the back of his property for mowing. The surveyor said the proposed bridge would sit above the high‑water mark and that Mr. Kirkham would be required to sign an acknowledgment accepting responsibility for maintenance. Board members complimented the plans and voted to accept the bridge; one member abstained from that roll‑call vote.
Separately, the surveyor and board discussed a revised payment of $5,588 to be paid to Mister Arnold for prior work on the Racer Ditch to account for an adjusted fair‑market value. The chair said that amount would be included with other claims when the board approved maintenance claims later in the meeting.
The board subsequently approved maintenance claims as presented, which included the Arnold payment; roll‑call votes for the maintenance claims were recorded as affirmative by the attending members.
