The West Haven Planning Commission approved a minor amendment Nov. 12 to the West Haven Walmart subdivision plat at 4101 South Midland Drive, moving area between lots so parcels fronting South Midland Drive are more suitable for development.
Damien, a planning staff presenter, explained the change affects lots 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the six-lot plat and that the proposed lots would meet minimum zoning standards for lot width, area and setbacks. He noted three outstanding corrections are required to meet state requirements: a written description of the changes, signed and notarized owner consent forms, and two other technical corrections in the staff corrections report.
"Staff does recommend the approval of the proposed plat amendment," Damien said, while emphasizing the condition that all staff comments in the corrections report be addressed prior to drafting and signing the final recordable plat (MILR). Commissioners moved and seconded the measure and approved it by voice vote.
The approval is conditioned on completion of the corrections and required owner consents; engineering, fire and building review comments were reported as reviewed and approved for the amendment. Staff will confirm all corrections are addressed before preparing the MILR for signatures.
