Superintendent (identified in the meeting as the district superintendent) opened his report by congratulating partner districts and staff involved in recent workforce development successes with WestMEC and other partners.

He then addressed a recent student death affecting the district, praising staff response and crisis procedures. The superintendent described activation of the district's crisis and safety teams, and named district staff involved in family and campus outreach, including the district safety director Robert Zamora and communications staff. "Our team at our [high] school responded to the tragedy over the weekend," the superintendent said, and thanked staff working with families and law enforcement to provide support.

The superintendent said district staff will continue working with families and campuses and that board communication on such incidents goes through district channels (identified in the meeting as Rachel Gross and Mr. Nallen's office).
