The City Planning Commission approved two final plats and cleared routine business at its meeting.
Andrew Dimas, Development Services, read the consent agenda and recommended approval of two final plats: ‘‘Nueces Gardens No. 1’’ and ‘‘M and R Home Solutions LLC subdivision.’’ "Staff has reviewed the plats along with a technical review committee and found that they are compliant with both the Unified Development Code as well as the Texas Local Government Code," Dimas said. The commission approved the consent agenda by voice vote.
A commissioner asked whether a final plat for a telecommunication tower triggers a special notification beyond the zoning case that preceded it. Dimas replied that the zoning case took place months earlier and "there's not a special one for telecom other than zoning cases," adding that a state law technically requires notification when a new final plat comes in after the fact but that staff is "still always fuzzy" about the practical point of that notice. He said staff had found no recorded opposition in the case history.
Earlier in the meeting the commission approved, by voice vote, a motion to accept the absences of Vice Chair Mandel and Commissioner Munoz, to adopt the Oct. 29, 2025 minutes and to pass the 2026 meeting calendar. Comment rules were read at the start of the meeting; speakers are limited to three minutes for public comment.
Next steps: the approved plats remain recorded and will proceed through any remaining administrative steps; staff indicated no outstanding opposition in the file. The meeting then continued to the director's report and other agenda items before adjourning.
