The Pasco County Board of County Commissioners voted to adopt RS1, a resolution recognizing November as National Hospice and Palliative Care Month and commending Gulfside Health Care Services for its local work.
The resolution recited national and local statistics and noted Gulfside's local presence, including serving more than 5693 patients in Pasco County and employing 218 active volunteers locally (figures cited in the resolution text). Linda Ward, Gulfside's president and CEO, told the board Gulfside serves roughly 700 hospice patients and 300 palliative care patients every day in Pasco County and thanked commissioners for their continued support. "We have a new care center opening very soon in New Port Richey," Ward said.
The board approved the resolution by voice vote; commissioners present offered remarks thanking Gulfside staff and volunteers and recognizing the role of hospice in end‑of‑life care.
Outcome: RS1 adopted; chair invited Gulfside representatives to the dais for a photo and public acknowledgment.
