At the Nov. 12 pre‑meeting Jennifer Green presented the Perch Creek Preserve project, describing roughly 200 acres of waterfront property that includes about 100 acres fronting Perch Creek and nearly five miles of bayfront and creek frontage.

Green said the project will begin by revisiting the 2019 master plan, conducting community engagement meetings and developing design documents to achieve shovel‑ready construction plans. The park is intended to be passive recreation and to provide new waterfront access and amenities for the Dog River/South DIP area.

Councilmembers praised staff for progress and noted the project’s benefits to the surrounding neighborhoods. The council also introduced a CIP resolution to authorize a contract and task order with Volker for design and engineering work on Perch Creek Preserve.
