Oklahoma County commissioners approved a package of procurement and construction items on the consent docket and in regular business.
Purchasing staff reported three bid recommendations: countywide window treatments (CW26090) to Bison Blinds LLC as the lowest-and-best bidder; carpet and flooring (CW26087) to Corporate Store after evaluation and end-user feedback; and lawn maintenance supplies (CW26031) to Madison Turf Farms as the lone bidder. "Invitations to bid were sent to Oklahoma County registered vendors…based upon feedback from the end users…we're recommending award to the lowest and best," the procurement presenter said. The board moved and approved those recommendations by voice vote.
In engineering business, commissioners approved a $84,593.43 contract with Thompson General Contracting to install a permanent hydraulic accessibility elevator in the courthouse. Engineering staff described the work as a permanent fix rather than a temporary lift. "This will be an actual car, elevator, hydraulic lift," staff said during presentation. The motion to approve passed by voice vote.
Other procurement and contract items approved on the agenda included a change order at Flint Carter Behavioral Care Center to install blocking for future handrails (staff said handrail installation remains under negotiation with the health department), continuation of an ARPA-funded culvert inventory with up to $10,000 from the CBRI account to allow vendor additions to the GIS inventory, and routine IT/communications and POTS line work with Granite.
Why it matters: The elevator contract improves courthouse accessibility; the procurement awards fill ongoing operational needs (flooring, window treatments, grounds supplies), and the culvert/GIS work supports long-term infrastructure tracking.
What happens next: Engineering and purchasing will execute vendor contracts and follow up on outstanding technical questions (for example, whether a Carpel storage amendment integrates with JailTracker) before returning to the commission for further review if required.
