The Torrington City Council voted Nov. 10 to authorize the mayor to execute and amend the collective‑bargaining agreement with AFSCME Local 2212 for city hall employees covering the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2029.

Council members asked whether the contract would be retroactive to July 1; staff confirmed it would and said the retroactive cost was accounted for in department 44 of the city budget. "It will," the presiding officer said when asked whether the agreement was retroactive. Councilman Amin moved the motion and Councilwoman Spino seconded it. The motion carried.

Council did not record any further conditions on the authorization.
