At the regular council meeting the body approved a multi‑item consent agenda that bundled routine financial, procurement and administrative items.

In zoning and land‑use business the council approved a map amendment (R‑3 to R‑4) at 642 South Martin Luther King Jr. Ave and a related conditional use permit for a multi‑unit dwelling. The council also approved a variance and conditional use permits tied to properties on West Wadsworth Road per the agenda items considered earlier by the Community Development Committee.

On a separate ordinance, the council voted to increase the number of Class E restaurant liquor licenses by one for Taqueria del Primo at 1020 Washington Street. The roll call on that ordinance was recorded as Ayes: Alderman Martinez, Alderman Donaworth and Mayor/Council Chair; Noes: Alderman Hayes and Alderman Bolton. Several council members questioned the door‑to‑door distance to the high school before voting.
