The Flat Rock City Council approved a package of routine administrative items including memberships, a reappointment, technology procurement and a vehicle repair request.
Mayor Beller moved to reappoint Shannon McNamara to the TIFA board and the council approved the reappointment by voice vote. Council approved the BSNA annual assessing service fee of $3,626 and DCC membership dues of $6,525.88. The council also approved an annual membership contribution to Downriver Mutual Aid (DMA) of $15,023.86; council clarified that DMA stands for Downriver Mutual Aid.
The police department asked the council to approve a cloud-based records management system through Tyler Technologies procured via the Downriver consortium; the police representative said the system is expected to hold steady or slightly decrease annual costs after removing local servers. The police also reported being fully staffed with 19 officers and two officers entering field training. The council approved the records-management request by voice vote.
The water department requested authorization to repair a 2015 Ford Transit used by the water department (engine/timing-chain concerns and rusted crossmembers); staff provided an estimate of roughly $10,000 for a complete engine assembly and related work and the council approved proceeding.
