Becca from the Jackson County zoning office told the Board the Zoning Commission voted Oct. 20 to recommend a comprehensive update to the county zoning ordinance after several months of staff work, commission review and public meetings. She asked the board to set a public hearing.

The auditor and supervisors discussed timing and amended the request; the board set the public hearing for Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 8:30 a.m. Becca said paper copies of the draft ordinance will be available in the zoning office and at the board office and that the draft will be posted on the Jackson County website and the ECIA website. She cited notice requirements under Iowa law for publication (Iowa Code chapter 335 and related publication rules).

Supervisors said they intend to make copies available for public review and encouraged residents to attend the hearing and comment.
