On Nov. 11 the Village of Jackson Budget & Finance Committee voted to recommend a set of 2026 budget and fee actions to the Village Board.

The committee recommended approval of Resolution 25-30 (establishing 2026 fees), Resolution 25-31 (adopting the 2026 general fund budget), Resolution 25-32 (2026 water utility budget) and Resolution 25-33 (2026 sewer utility budget). The group also recommended approval of Resolution 25-34 to adopt the 2025 tax levy for the 2026 budget. All motions were moved and seconded by committee members and approved by voice votes.

During the fees discussion, a committee member noted that a revised packet page with highlighted changes from Fire Chief Swaney had been distributed at the meeting. Staff asked that the minutes reflect corrected revenue and expenditure totals in the published 2026 budget summary; Darlene read recommended language stating those corrections do not affect the total tax levy and should be memorialized before Village Board adoption.

All items will be forwarded to the Village Board with the committee’s recommendation. The committee did not record individual roll-call votes in the minutes; the chair announced each motion carried by voice vote.

Next steps: the Village Board will consider the recommended resolutions and acknowledge the corrected budget summary language in the official record.
