At the start of public comment Nov. 11, Ashley Booth urged the Roswell Independent School District Board to add handrails to the stairways leading to the main bleachers at the Wool Bowl stadium to improve safety and accessibility.

"This is about accessibility, safety, and inclusion for all community members," Booth said, describing how her 70‑year‑old mother could not use the stairs and recounting a high‑school student who broke an arm after a fall on the steps. She noted existing ramps and an elevator that meet ADA requirements but said the handrails would allow more community members—including elderly fans and veterans—to attend events.

Booth cited a letter published in the Roswell Daily Record from William Harris, who said he stopped attending events at the Wool Bowl after being unable to access the elevator when a press‑box door was locked. Booth said she learned Mr. Harris later died before the issue could be resolved.

Board members did not vote on the matter during the meeting; Booth’s comments were entered during public comment so the board could consider the request in future facility planning and budgeting discussions.
