Farhan said the secretary‑general appointed Peter Dueh of Denmark as his new special representative and head of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), succeeding Caroline Ziadeh. The spokesperson said Dueh has about 30 years of experience in international peace and security and has held senior positions in political affairs and peace operations.

Farhan also said that effective Nov. 8, Gaurav Ray of Australia has taken up a leadership role in the UN Development Coordination Office; Ray has held leadership roles in complex environments, including work with the German Red Cross in Bangladesh and engagement in refugee‑support and climate resilience efforts.
