At the Oklahoma County BET meeting on Nov. 10, members approved the revised 2026 Budget Evaluation (BEP) meeting schedule, reviewed furniture bids for a 5th-floor social-distancing project and declined to act on several trust items while trust representatives were meeting across the hall.
Speaker 6 presented Item 6 (furniture bids). Speaker 1 said the apparent vendor is L and M and referenced Bison Blinds and other state-contract vendors; Speaker 1 said many requested items were eliminated from the list and that a final open-book list will be shared, with ultimate approval to go through POC. No formal action was taken on the furniture bids at this meeting.
On Item 7, the board approved the revised dates for the 2026 BEP schedule after a motion and second; the chair called for a voice vote and announced the "ayes" carried. During discussion about trust items, members raised questions about trust purchases reported at a concurrent trust meeting (including a donated van and purchases totaling roughly $180,000 and contracts for medical staffing such as McDaniel). The board discussed recessing briefly to invite trust representatives or scheduling a special meeting; members ultimately agreed to wait until the next regular meeting unless the trust requests otherwise.
Before adjourning, Speaker 2 introduced Lisa, the new accounting and compliance manager, and the board approved a motion to adjourn on a voice vote.
