Town staff reported multiple infrastructure updates at the Nov. 10 Sellersburg council meeting, including completion of a water valve project, hydrant replacements and progress on utility relocations tied to an INDOT project on State Route 60.

Public works staff said crews completed a water main replacement near Utica and added valves and hydrants; contractor Lawyer Excavation finished a relocation near Silver Creek Middle School and will begin additional waterline work and later transition to sewer work near the same school. The JTL team said substantial completion for a key utility relocation was scheduled for about Dec. 7 with final completion aimed for Jan. 6, and contractors have proposed a short extension and are committing to work Saturdays.

The town's lead service line inventory field work is complete and, according to staff, no lead service lines were found. Staff also reported the Sunflower Valley water system design is readying for bidding in early 2026 and that the Ivy Tech Pump Station No. 2 elimination construction should begin next Monday.

Officials cautioned weather and mapping complexities have affected schedules on certain projects and that upcoming work on multiple sections of State Route 60 will require flagging and temporary traffic measures. Letters to property owners about easement acquisitions for a town center sewer extension project will be sent soon, staff said.
