The Moorhead Area Public Schools board voted Nov. 10 to approve the district’s Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness 2024–25 annual report. The report summarizes district strategic priorities, school improvement goals and student achievement measures required for state reporting.

Dr. Larson told trustees the district recorded growth in 15 of 22 MCA subgroups and walked the board through literacy and readiness indicators. “We grew in 15 of the 22 subgroups,” Larson said, noting gains across several student populations. Larson also clarified that the 83.4% figure discussed in the presentation referred to the district’s five‑year graduation rate rather than the four‑year rate.

The report introduces a new high‑school 'report card' that will define college and career readiness using multiple indicators (ACT/ACT‑equivalent or MCA proficiency, algebra 2, concurrent enrollment, certifications and attendance/engagement measures). Staff said last year’s graduating class will serve as the baseline for that new metric.

Trustees thanked staff for the work on the report and approved the annual report by motion and voice vote. The district will use the report to guide school improvement planning and required state submissions.
