The Fox Chapel Area School District on Nov. 10 approved a series of facilities contracts and change orders, including a $567,324.14 base-bid award for high-school tennis-court renovations and a $524,400 contract for replacement of athletic-field sports lighting.
Facilities staff presented four items for approval: the district recommended awarding the high school tennis court renovations project to VSNH Construction Company LLC, contingent on completion of post-bid award documents, with a base bid amount listed in the agenda as $567,324.14. The board also approved multiple change orders for the Hartwood Elementary HVAC project: GC005 ($3,192.00), GC006 ($33,264.32), PC004 ($8,084.72), HC003 ($6,636.48), HC004 ($3,003.95) and HC005 ($165,980.18). The transcript lists those amounts as provided in the attachments.
The board approved an agreement with GeoSport Lighting Systems LLC for athletic-field lighting replacement at a total cost listed as $524,400. The facilities report also included ratification of hiring additional ABC Transit Inc. school bus drivers for the 2025–26 school year with required licensing and clearances verified.
A motion to approve all four facilities items was seconded and passed on a roll-call vote.
What to watch: Several of the change-order line items (Hartwood HVAC) are substantial and, combined with lighting and tennis-court work, represent a notable near-term capital workload for the district.
